Police Boss Orders Withdrawal Of Politicians’ Orderlies

The Inspector General of police Mr Solomon Arase, on Saturday ordered the withdrawal of policemen from politicians, saying that only “high risk” politicians should be allowed to have orderlies.

Mr Arase gave the order in Minna, the capital of Niger State while on a one-day visit to address officers and men of the Niger State Police Command.

He said Niger State needed more manpower to curtail the rate of crime in the state which he described as ‘a state with a large landmass’.

Mr Arase also stressed the need for the police force to respect the fundamental human rights and avoid arresting innocent people.
